Summary : Accurate climate action begins with emissions data that reflect real livestock systems. This publication shows how Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Vietnam moved beyond the default Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Tier 1 estimates by applying country-specific Tier 2 methods that better capture animal populations, manure management, and animal performance. Developed through the collaboration of the New Zealand Ag Emissions Centre (formerly the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre) and SEARCA, it offers policymakers and technical teams clear insights into how better data can strengthen greenhouse gas inventories, sharpen mitigation planning, and support more credible climate reporting in Southeast Asia.
