The BIC network shall be composed of and will work closely with the existing SEAMEO SEARCA network of university consirtium, the National Agricultural Research Systems (NARS) in the region, and other allied government and non-government organizations. The BIC shall source information from the huge agricultural biotechnology information and knowledge generated and compiled databases in biotechnology information resource centers both within and outside of the region. Messages will include information on agricultural products and services and their safety, information to facilitate understanding of emerging and persistent issues, and answers to frequently asked questions. Information processing, packaging, sharing, distribution, and depositing are critical activities of BIC. For each phase of activity, the dimensions vary according to targeted stakeholders. The BIC shall also actively participate in the advocacy activities for biotechnology of the national programs. As a country node of the ISAAA Global Knowledge Center Network and the first to be established, the BIC shares and exchange information and experiences with other KC nodes.
