The National Authority on Genetic Modification (NAGM) in Brunei Darussalam is expected to play a vital role in providing guidelines for national framework on biosafety issues with regard to regulation, assessment and management or risks associated with the use and release of GMOs into the environment. It is also anticipated that the implementation on biosafety measures will be aimed mostly at GMOs imported from other countries as research activities on biotechnology are only carried out ini a small and limited scale.
