Conclusion: Papaya is an important fruit crop in Thailand especially in the northeast, where people consume large amounts of green papaya as salad. Since 1975, papaya ringspot disease has been the major constraint to papaya production in Thailand. Several approaches for solving the PRSV problem, including varietal improvement, cross protection, and transgenic papaya, are under investigation
