Title: Release and economic impact of imporved mutant varieties in Vietnam.

Conclusion: From 1995 up to now, Vietnam became official member of Mutation Breeding cooperation in Asian Region (including 8 neighboring Asian countries). Institute of Agricultural Genetics (AGI) was considered as the representative of Vietnam on mutation breeding field. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) supported Vietnam project: IAEA - VIE 5/013 with title: "Improvement of food crops through induce mutation". AGI was selected as main countrepart of project during 1997-1998. Because of this project was finished with good results, IAEA has decided to extend the project until 2001 and upgrading model project IAEA-VIE/5/014.
