Lakbay Biotek Promo was sponsored by the SEARCA-BIC and the Department of Agriculture. The Lakbay Biotek Educational Visit undertook a three to four day all-expense paid to various institutions doing biotechnology research and development activities and talked with the scientists themselves. The educational study visit aimed to enhance the public's awareness o innovative biotechnology applications in agriculture, fisheries, medicine and environmental protection. The winners were awarded during the celebration of the Philippine National Biotechnology Week held on July 1-7, 2005.
