Farm youth commitment in agriculture projects is important in order to meet the nation's food supply. Studies have shown that farm youths seem to loose interest in farming as a career. On the other hand, there are few youths who are still involved in agriculture. Thus, their profile and attitude towards agriculture should be identified in relation to their commitment in agricultural projects. The general objective of this study is to determine the commitment level of farm youth in agricultural projects. The study was conducted in the state of Selangor through 140 respondents who were randomly selected. The findings of te study revealed that the level of commitment of farm youth was found to be significantly related to their duration of projects, income, needs achievement contributed 47 percent of the variability in the level of commitment while two percent of the variability in the commitment was attributed to personality traits. The study concluded that individual internal aspects of motivation that is, needs achievement and personality traits, are important indicators in determining the level of commitment among youths. Other factors such as income, level of education, duration of projects and encouragement by extension are supporting factors. Meanwhile, land ownership does not contribute to the increase in the level of commitment. Lastly, the study suggests that farm youths and their most immediate extension shoud be made aware of the idea of farm entrepreneurship. On top of that, government should help ot change public perception on farming as a career, and to allocate a piece of land as production center in every state.
