As the graduates leave the vocational schools, one might expect that they would be readily absorbed by the economy. The real situation, however, is much below expectations. This study sought to udnerstand the connection between vocational schooling and employment by analyzing the effect of various factors on the income and employment of the graduates of upper-secondary vocational schools in Ayuthaya Thailand. It was hypothesized that income and employment of the graduates were influenced by (a) the school program, (b) graduate's ability, (c) scholastic achievement, (d) experience in employment, (e) training after graduation, (f) sex, and (g) parents' socio-economic status.
