This study has attempted to determine the growth rate of output and inputs for rice production of Central Luzon for the period 1960 to 1972. The factors are land, labor, irrigation and machinery. Specifically, it also examined the relationship between capital machinery and human labor and to see this, the marginal rate of technical substitution between machinery and labor has been determined. Lastly, the quantity of labor demanded has been assessed to determine what factors affect the labor absorption rate of agriculture in Central Luzon. The principal hypotheses is that mechanization (the new rice technology) has a negative effect on the employment of labor on rice farms in Central Luzon.
