A total of 149 growing pigs consisting of 7 breeds of strains, divided into boars, gilts and barrows were fed with two kinds of rations, in the NSDB-UPLB Swine breeding project from August 1972 to December 1973. Regression analyses were applied on the individual data obtained from each of the 28 breed/strain/ration and sex groups of individually fed pigs with body weight as independent variable (X) and average daily gain, feed intake and feed efficiency (feed/gain) as dependent variables (Y), respectively, and age (days) as independent variable (X) against body weight as dependent variable (Y). From the analysis of variance and t-test the following results are noted. Twenty seven out of 28 treatment groups showed a significant relationship between body weight and feed intake (r=0.61 to 0.99) and 100% R2 ranging from 37 to 98.
