Summary : Banana homogenate, coconut water, tomato juice, auxin (NAA) and peptone were used singly or in combination as nutrient supplements to Knudson C in the in vitro cultures of eight-month-old vanda sanderiana seedlings. Growth and development was evaluated 245 days after reflasking using the following parameters; shoot height, number of leaves and roots, number of plants per replication, percentage of plant population, combined population weight, percentage of population weight and average fresh weight per plant. The poorest plants and high mortality of seedlings after reflasking were obtained from treatment with NAA as the only supplements. Thus, auxin (NAA) was not adequate as lone supplement but the addition of NAA to Knudson C enriched with 50 saba resulted in little enhancement. Tomato, coconut water, tomato-coconut water and tomato-coconut water peptone did not give any significant improvement in growth and development of vanda sanderiana. Combination of these supplements with banana (saba) produced better plants.
