The mechanical properties of fiber-overlaid plywood panels made of different types of fiber mats mainly sugarcane bagasse fibers, rice straw fibers and Kaatoan bangkal fibers were determined by subjecting them to four different levels of resin content and three levels of wax content. These fiber mats were used to mask plywood face under different treatments. A total of 225 panels, 12 x 12 of fiber overlaid plywood from different treatments, were prepared the following procedures : (1) glue bond quality test, (2) hardness test, (3) static bending test and (4) water absorption and swelling test. A statistical analysis was made to determine the effectiveness and the relative contribution to the variation on fiber-type, resin solid and wax content.
