Summary : This study was conducted to estimate the general and specific combining abilities of growth performance through diallel crossing of four selected genetic groups of Philippine native chickens, namely: Paraoakan from Palawan, Banaba from Batangas, Camarines from Bicol Region and Bolinao from Pangasinan. Four males and 16 females of each group were used as parental stocks and their matings produced a total of 362 chick progenies. In terms of the growth and reproductive performance, the four genetic groups are characterized. based on the overall body weight of both sexes, the four genetic groups of native chickens can be compared (from the highest to the lowest) as follows.
