The study sought to determine the values of cooperative members in relation to their participation in the cooperative in order to derive some policy implications for the promotion of cooperative development. The findings about value orientation indicate that all the respondents uniformly placed a relatively high value on honesty, justice, diligence and discipline, and a relatively low value on fatalism, vacillation and pleasure orientation. However, of the responses of members of these two cooperatives, 10 out of 14 values were found to be highly significantly different. Major comments and suggestions for improving the cooperative were : increase the variety of commodities, lower the prices, provide delivery service, and improve the behavior of cooperative employees toward customers.
