Three studies using different enzyme preparations (A,B, and C) were carried out to evaluate effect of enzyme on the performance of weanling pigs and coefficients of nutrient digestibility in broilers and the economic benefits derived from enzyme supplementation of broiler diets. In study 1 three batches of 54 piglets each subdivided into three blocks of 18 piglets per block were randomly distributed to three dietary treatments following a randomized complete block design. Enzymes A and B were supplemented at the rate of 0.2% in pre-starter ration and fed over a period of 28 days. In study 2.140 broiler chicks were randomly distributed to 20 cages with 7 birds each. The cages were assigned to four treatments, each treatment replicated four times, following a completely randomized design. Enzyme A was supplemented at 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20%. Digestibility trial was also conducted. In study 3, the same procedure was followed as in study 2 but this time, enzyme C was used. In both trials ad libitum feeding was done from 8 to 42 days of age of the broiler. In study 1, body weight gain, feed consumption and feed efficiency of piglets were slightly improved by the inclusion of either enzyme A or enzyme B in hog pre-starter diet.
