Summary : Through an interview schedule, primary date were gathered from 134 in-school youth and 62 out-of-school youth aged 15 to 30 years. This study was done to generate a profile of the youth and identify the variables associated with the level and nature of youth participation in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation components of the management of the Salcedo watershed. Majority of the respondents were female and in-school youth; 40 percent had achieved college education and more than one fourth were at the secondary level. The respondents were mostly affiliated with youth organizations like Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and Future Farmers of the Philippines. The motive of the majority in joining the organizations was to seek pleasure, while some were determined to help community and the youth sector or its combination. The youth preferred to advocate for the adult and farmer sectors of society. They believed that the management of the watershed in Salcedo belonged to the local government unit. Most of the respondents were aware of the consequences of a denuded watershed, farming activities on the peripheries of watershed, the prevailing illegal cutting of trees by the residents and non-residents.
