Summary : The increased awareness of livestock's role in the Philippine economy for this millennium encourages animal scientists to conduct research and formulate methodologies applicable in sustaining animal production. Animal scientists play vital role in boosting animal production due to the demands of increasing human population. The general objective of the study is to evaluate the performance of imported dairy cattle dispersed in selected areas of Cebu, Misamis Oriental and Davao del Sur. The study is further divided into sub-studies which aim to: Study 1 : Performance of imported dispersed dairy cattle and its influencing factors under Cebu, Misamis Oriental and Davao del Sur condition (a) define distinct agro-ecological zones within the experimental sites; (b) compare the physical characteristics of these areas, land use as well as pasture species where the imported dairy cattle were dispersed; (c) assess the level of technology adoption and its source among stakeholders particularly in nutrition and feeding strategies as well as management practices used in imported dairy cattle; (d) determine the trends of reproductive and productive performance of imported dairy cattle; (e) determine the gender role of stakeholders of the dispersed imported dairy cattle in the respective areas; (f) determine the awareness, strength and limitation of dairy cooperative policies among stakeholders of the dispersed imported dairy cattle; (g) determine the degree of agreement on the factors influencing the performance of imported dairy cattle as perceived by the stakeholders, and (h) determine the extent of contribution of the imported dispersed dairy cattle in the socio-economic status among stakeholders. Study 2 : Nutrient flow in dairy production systems in selected areas of Cebu, Misamis Oriental and Davao del Sur; Study 3 : Simulation and Geographical Information Systems Application in the dispersed imported dairy cattle management and production.
