Summary : This thesis study was conducted to develop forest resource databases for ASCOT reservation area, correlate the distribution of resources along the gradients of the environment, and recommend appropriate management schemes deemed necessary to develop the area. As to the outcome of the study, different databases were created from the results of data sourcing and inventory. In terms of species composition, floristic composition analysis showed that species of Dipterocarpaceae dominates the area. The presence of lesser-used species was the evidence of the past logging operations that opened gaps for their emergence. Vegetation analysis by principal components showed no relative correlation between species composition and the variants of environment like elevation, slope and soils. With regards to faunal assessment, it was found out that most of the species are Philippine endemic while three (3) bird species were identified as Near Threatened. Along with this, simple GIS analysis where generated to identify areas for conservation and management. BAsed on the results of the study by considering the criteria and indicators for sustainable forest management, appropriate management schemes were formulated for the area. It is recommended by this study that database creation to form an RIS should be adopted to ensure sustainable production of forest produce without impairing its ecological stability.
