Six isolates of Beauveria bassiana (Bb1 to Bb6), seven isolates of Metarhizium anisopliae (Ma1 to Ma7), and one isolate of Paelocilomyces lilacius (P1) from Philippines and Indonesia were evaluated for their infectivity to Tetranychus kanzawai (Kishida). The selected three isolates eacf of Bb and Ma were pathogenic to mite with LC50 value of 1.2 x 10³ to 2.4 x 10³, 5.0 x 10² to 1.3x 10² for Ma after days post infection under laboratory condition condition. When 10 to the power of 8 concentrations of the seven isolates were sprayed to papaya seedings in the greenhouse, LT50 values ranged from 3.0 to 4.2 days for Ma and 3.98 to 5.48 days for Bb. P1 was not infected to T. kanzawai compared to the other two fungal pathogens. Characterization using morphological and molecular analysis showed that selected Ma, Bb. Pl entomopathological isolates virulent against T. kanzawai belong to B. bassiana, M. anisoplae, and P. lilacinus species, respectively. ITS DNA sequence anaysis indicated within Beauveria and Metarhizium isolates.
