Summary : The research sought to examine the extension support provided on food processing and marketing of garcinia-based products of community enterprises in Phuket, Thailand. Specifically, the study were to describe the profile of the respondents; determine the extension support given to these community enterprises from food processing to marketing; identify the practices from food processing to marketing of garcinia-based products; and examine the benefits derived by the members and community enterprise in food processing and marketing on garcinia-based products. A total of 85 members from three community enterprises engaged in garcinia-based products served as the respondents of the study. Structured interview was conducted among respondents for data gathering. Primary data was also gathered from focus group discussion complemented by secondary data. Key informant interviews were likewise conducted. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistical tools such as percentages, means, standard deviation, and ranges. Results show that members were highly satisfied with the extension support system for received especially for the marketing support through promotional activities. Although the benefit of income generation is not enough for livelihood, they were satisfied to contribute to a better community economy, and strengthening community enterprises. However, the importance of a continuous and an integrated extension work which includes monitoring and evaluation along with the participation of members and intensive support programs in marketing is needed to ensure enhancement of garcinia-based products.
