Summary : This self-learning module is intended to help genebank staff or those working in a genebank for the first time to perform their day-to-day work. This will serve as a standard reference guide for genebank practices particularly those in developing countries. This module is a stand-alone learning tool. It has been organized into units and lessons according to the general sequence of work undertaken in genebanks. Each lesson includes learning objectives, description of procedures, learning checks to assess understanding, problem scenarios for applying learning to a practical situation and lesson summaries. The module is intended to be used in conjunction with the Handbook for Genebanks No. 8: Manual of Seed Handling in Genebanks which is included on this CD-ROM version along with other relevant publications and web links.
