Summary : This study is an attempt to: (1) apply bebefit-cost analysis to the broiler production project (Linga Livestock and Poultry Raisers' Association) of the Pila Social Laboratory, in order to determine its remunerativeness; (2) provide quantitative estimates of the effects of the price and quantity of inputs as well as other selected variables on broiler production of the LLPRA farmer-members; and (3) identify the problems of the LLPRA and offer probable solutions. A total of 66 LLPRA broiler farms located in barrio Linga and several adjacent barrios in the municipality of Pila, Laguna were included in the study. Data of these sample farmers were obtained through personal interviews in October 1976. Data on the LLPRA however was secondary in nature. The sources of secondary data included monthly and quarterly field reports, association financial records and UPLB/SEARCA Social Laboratory records. The time period covered by the study was from 1971 to 1975.
