The study sought to determine the perceptions and attitudes of rice farmer members toward Samahang Nayon in North Cotabato, Philippines. Specifically, the study attempted to find out the following: farmer members' perceptions of and attitudes toward selected aspects of Samahang Nayon such as its characteristics, objectives, functions, membership requirements, and its cooperative-based principles and practices; congruency between the farmer members' perceptions of and attitudes toward the various aspects of Samahang Nayon; farmer members' impressions of the degree to which the objectives and functions of Samahang Nayon are being attained; relationships between certain socioeconomic variables associated with the Samahang Nayon members and their perceptions of and attitudes toward the selected aspects of Samahang Nayon; and sources of farmers' motivation as well as resistance to join and support Samahang Nayon
