The newly bred rice variety, Mahsuri and Bahagia, released to farmers in 1966, have brought a major important in rice production in West Malaysia. The broad objective of this studies is to determine what factors, both economic and non-economic, have influenced the farmer's decision to adopt HYV and chemical fertilizers, and what impact this has had upon total production.
