The supply response model was formulated on the assumption of close economy wherein chicken produced in the country or region are slaughtered or supplied in the country or some region. The dependent variable therefore, was the total dressed weight of chicken in the country or a region. Factors affecting the supply response of chicken were farm price of chickens, price of corn, farm price of hogs, and chicken inventory. The price variables were lagged one year on the assumption that farmers use " extension of current price " as an expectational model. Two sets of models were formulated: A static short-run model and a dynamic distributed lag model. For both, the static and dynamic model, variations were made whereby a chicken/corn price ratio was used instead of using chicken and corn prices as separate variables.
