This study attempted to (1) determine whether and to what extent barrio associations are being used as channels of communication by agricultural service agencies and rice farmers in Pila; (2) describe the process of communication occurring between the agricultural service agencies and the rice farmers; (3) identify the specific communication functions performed by the barrio associations; and (4) make some recommendations on how to make barrio associations more effective communication channels.
