The purpose of this study is to examine the variables that predict the objective career advancement among women academics in universities in Bengkulu city, Southwest Sumatra, Indonesia. The study was conducted in Bengkulu city, Southwest Sumatra, Demographic, job credential work situation and career strategy were employed as independent variables, while functional level and income level of respondent were the objective career advancement (dependent variables). To help the women academics in their objective career advancement, increasing the salary level, providing the trainings and seminars about networking and providing the scholarships to take a further education were recommended for the universities.
