The objectives of the study were (a) to describe the general profile of rice farmers, and (b) to determine their information-seeking behavior, exposure to communication channels, perception of recommended practices, and the relationship of these variables to adoption. This study was conducted among lowland rice farmers in the Province of Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. A total sample of 131 respondents was randomly selected from two villages--Desa Pakuli (81) and Desa Sidondo (50). Data were gathered through personal interviews with the use of an interview schedule.
