The study analyzed the nature of institutional transformations (ITs) of agricultural cooperatives (ACs) in response to agricultural industrialization (AI) and their contributions to development of the community. Proportional random sampling was used to select 200 respondents from three ACs in Taytuu, Hanoi, Vietnam. Data were gathered through individual face-to-face and in-depth interviews and from secondary sources. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance, Tukey's Post-hoc Test, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Spearman Rank Correlation Coefficients. Agricultural industrialization in Taytuu began long ago but farmers still had problems with production contract, marketing, and management. Respondents perceived a moderate level of IT of the ACs in terms of leadership, doctrine, program, resources, internal structure, criteria for membership, provision of services to members, participation of members, and linkages. they also perceived that these transformations contributed to development of the community as they enhanced environment quality, social capital, and economic viability. The study showed that IT is a key factor in increasing the ability of community systems to create positive and desirable change towards community development. Adequacy of community facilities, land and water, production contracts, and output exportation potential were critical factors in IT of ACs in Taytuu.
