The research was conducted to determine the effect of plantation crops with Wedelia trilobata invasion on the properties of soil and the effect of P fertilizer and creeping daisy soil biological enhancer (CDSBE) on the growth performance and nutrient uptake of cashew seedlings. The first study focused on the effect of plantation types and the degree of invasion of Wedelia trilobata (W. trilobata) on the chemical properties, nutrient index, and microbiological properties of the soil. The second study focused on the effect of P fertilizer and creeping daisy soil biological enhancer (CDSBE) application on the growth and nutrient uptake of cashew seedlings. Results of the first study revealed plantation types, W. trilobata, and their interaction did not yield a significant effect on the chemical and microbiological properties of the soil. Likewise, the nutrient index was generally low in terms of soil pH, OM, P, K, Ca, and Mg. However, there were notably higher values in the calamansi plantation, particularly during the W. trilobata invasion. The second study also found that P fertilizer, CDSBE, and their interaction yield no significant effect. However, it was observed that cashew seedlings treated with P fertilizer, CDSBE, or a combination of both have higher values in terms of growth performance and nutrient uptake. The result suggests that P fertilizer, CDSBE, or a combination of both have the potential to enhance growth and nutrient uptake.
