Summary : The long-term socioeconomic impacts of inadequate sustainability practices in project management are significant, particularly in perpetuating poverty in marginalized communities. These challenges are even more pronounced in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs) which refer to locations that are isolated due to factors like distance, weather, and limited transportation. In the pursuit of more equitable development, the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) implemented the S&T Community-based for Inclusive Development (STC4iD) Program. This aimed to establish a sustainable community-based livelihood in agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sector through science and technology, with Biga, Magallanes, Sorsogon, and Salangsang, Lebak Sultan Kudarat identified as among the initial pilot sites. Primary data were collected through surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), and key informant interviews (KIIs). Secondary data were gathered from project documents and other relevant resource materials. The study employed descriptive statistics to analyze quantitative data, while thematic analysis was used for qualitative insights. The findings of this study highlight the role of key stakeholders in effectively executing sustainable livelihood projects in GIDAs. Additionally, interventions to these areas must be context­driven, prioritizing the enhancement of human capital through education and skills training, alongside strengthening financial capital through better access to credit. To further enhance the program, a coordinated national strategy should be pursued to generate synergies, maximize resource efficiency, eliminate redundancies, and more effectively address the diverse needs of these communities. For funding and implementing bodies, it is crucial to develop initiatives that reflect the community's livelihood practices and capabilities, while also acknowledging the availability or lack of local assets.
