This manual on supply chain management was prepared in response to the need for a practical guide for managers, proprietors and entrepreneurs in agribusiness. With the increasing competition in the global market for agriculture and food products, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in agribusiness need to ensure cost-effective and efficient integration of the flow of inputs and outputs from initial sourcing of raw materials to the delivery of products to the market or end users to stay competitive. This is the essence of good supply chain management. A well-designed supply chain enables agribusiness SMEs to minimize costs, maximize profits, and sustain business operations. To be able to achieve these, there is a need to enhance the capacities of agribusiness entrepreneurs, managers of agribusiness SMEs, and officials in the public sector responsible for promoting and providing technical assistance and advisory services to agribusiness SMEs in supply chain management.
